SafeAssign
SafeAssign compares submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works. SafeAssign is used to prevent plagiarism and to create opportunities to help students identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase.
SafeAssign is effective as both a deterrent and an educational tool.
What is SafeAssign
SafeAssign is built into Blackboard. It allows the instructor to set up SafeAssignments in a course for students to submit their own work to the database and to be flagged for any plagiarism. At any time an instructor can also Direct Submit papers to SafeAssign to be checked. Please note that SafeAssign should be used as an educational learning tool and not as a punishment.

Multiple Submissions To SafeAssign

By defult, students are allowed to submit to SafeAssign only once per SafeAssignment. If you have a need to give a student(s) another attempt at a SafeAssignment click HERE for the directions. Note: This is only managed on an instructor level.
